Finance Manager, Business Development

Job Description:

Sinclair Broadcast Group's corporate Finance Department is seeking a manager to lead its Business Development team. This specialized team is charged with supporting the financial, strategic and analytic development of Sinclair s growth initiatives.

As the Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to directly lead business initiatives, develop financial models, interface with all corporate departments, as well as stations, and provide strategic recommendations to our senior leadership. Take the lead on identifying, evaluating, and implementing company-wide initiatives with the goal of enhancing long-term profitability for the company.

Job duties look like this, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that current and future business opportunities are fully evaluated, including:

    • Financial projections
    • Likelihood of success/market fit
    • Proper leveraging of existing assets
    • Fit with Sinclair s strategic goals across content, marketing, and distribution
  • Develop an understanding of Sinclair s key assets and services and producing analyses in conjunction with other departments for senior management
  • Supervise the collection and analysis of data from both internal and external sources to evaluate profitability across multiple lines of business
  • Conduct independent research into new business opportunities
  • Represent the interests of the company in negotiation with outside parties
  • Construct analyses to evaluate potential strategic alliances
  • Assist with the interpretation of internal and external data with the intention of discerning opportunities for development
  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Manage and develop financial analyst(s)

We are looking for someone who has:

  • 7+ years of pertinent experience - various backgrounds will be considered
  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • An MBA is preferred
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Strong strategic thinking and an ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrable history of working collaboratively and building relationships with all levels of management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Business Intelligence systems is a plus
  • The ability to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
