2019 Intern - Communications

Position Summary:The objective of the internship program is to assist students in applying educational knowledge to real world applications in an effort to expand overall learning and provide guidance in streamlining career choices.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Work closely with other members of the Marketing & Communications team, in addition to other interns, on various projects throughout the summer
    • Projects may include but not be limited to: communication preparation, database creation, database management, customer service and sales projects
  • The intern will be exposed to weekly marketing meetings and may attend events or trade shows
  • Conduct market research at the request of the business and marketing & communications team with minimal supervision
  • Participate in other projects within the marketing team to develop skill-sets outside of specific team throughout the summer
  • Conduct company-wide communications channel analysis
    • Benchmark across the industry on best approaches to communications strategies
    • Support development of Internal and external communications strategies
    • Develop campaigns for internal and external customers
  • Create written communications with minimal first-time errors in multiple formats (social media platforms, internal communications etc) and also be able to provide valuable feedback to peers

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Minimum GPA of 3. 2 or higher
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with minimal initial written errors
  • Strong interpersonal relations skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred
Education:
  • Undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in business management, marketing, communication or related field.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
