ECCA Calcium Products, Inc. seeks Process Engineer (Cockeysville, MD 21030):
Develop, engineer, and analyze process systems and technology for improving efficiencies on existing systems or new processes at companys Cockeysville, Maryland Crushed Stone Mine and Plant; Implement production methods, improve, and evaluate equipment needs to increase productivity of paper mineral processing (i.e. slurry, milling, drying and grinding); Develop and implement ideas to improve the profitability of various processing units; Develop productivity improvements that focus on debottlenecking, yield improvements, operating efficiency improvements, and product quality improvements; Prepare financial analyses of each process improvement to determine the impact to the business and the project priority; Estimate materials, time, and cost of process improvement projects, and evaluate and select their equipment and materials.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelors Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Materials Engineering.
2. Three years of experience in the job offered or as a Production Engineer, Industrial Engineer or Materials Engineer.
The above 3 years of experience must include:
3 years of work experience in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, including utilization of structured problem solving methodologies (DMAIC) and statistical analysis techniques, including distributional analysis (ANOVA), Process Capability Analysis (Cp and Cpk) and SPC charts (X-bar, R, N), using any of the following statistical software package (either JMP, Minitab, Statistica or equivalent);
3 years of work experience demonstrating capital cost savings through one of the following areas: process waste or yield loss reduction, process efficiency or product quality improvement;
3 years of work experience in project management including project development; leading and directing cross-functional teams to achieve project deliverables; effectively tracking and communicating project status from conception to closing;
1 year of work experience conducting engineering feasibility studies, plant trials and overseeing instrumentation installations (commissioning and validation);
3 years of work experience applying fundamental Chemical Engineering principles in the areas of system mass and energy balances; applications of flow, mass or density meters; particle size manipulation and control; particle suspensions and rheological behavior;
1 year of work experience with any of the following Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software (either OSIsoft or GE platform).
Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
