Our client is a leading international leader in the design and manufacture of analytical instrumentation used in the medical field. Currently they are developing their next generation of products and are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who has a passion for delivering great software products that meet customer needs. The right candidate will be a self-motivated positive person who can work independently as well as being a team player, has excellent debugging/problem solving skills, has built innovative forward-looking solutions, is a technical leader and mentor, and works effectively with project management. The candidate will be part of a highly technical software engineering team targeting an existing microbiology laboratory system in the area of automation, database and network communications. This person will lead in troubleshooting existing problems as well as provide solutions and recommendations for the next-generation system.
Responsibilities: Provides subject-matter expertise with regards to the architecture and design of distributed software and hardware architectures Troubleshoot/debug issues within existing automation systems, and recommends and/or implements modifications to resolve these issues Implements new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products; leads in the Implementation of more complex subsystems and systems Demonstrates proper coding including maintainability, reuse, unit testing, and commenting, driving standards within the team Adheres to all quality management system and regulatory requirements Collaborates with other internal resources to ensure effective design and implementation goals. Recommends design direction for existing and new software system components Leads technical design reviews and code inspections. Provide clear, actionable feedback for project team members. Insures adherence to Companys development policies and procedures Ensures compliance to Company quality standards and conveys an expectation of high software qualityRequirements: Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in software development, systems & architecture concepts and designs or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 5 years hands on experience with relational database technologies. Minimum of 2 years hands on experience using SQL in a client/server environment (Microsoft SQL Server). Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing C#/.Net applications. Demonstrated understanding of electro-opto-mechanical instruments/modules development. Knowledge of Automation/Process Control experience a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
