POSITION Overview:
Reporting to the Vice-President Global Quality Assurance, the QA Director, Asia Pacific is responsible for administering the company quality programs in accordance with customer, regulatory and company requirements in the Asia Pacific zone.
The position has a technical support responsibility as directed by business units. The Director maintains close contact with internal and external regulatory resources and customer representatives who are concerned with quality and food safety. He or she also maintains high-level professional contacts in the field of quality and safety.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide oversight for all activities necessary to assure the quality of products manufactured and marketed by the Company in the Asia Pacific zone, from conceptualization through production, distribution and sales.
Promote a tightly linked quality organization to network and leverage our know-how and competencies.
Represent Asia Pacific Zone on the Global Quality Leadership Council in the deployment of Council directives and long term functional strategic planning. Plan and coordinate with unit QA heads to ensure Corporate QA Policies, Procedures, and major strategies and initiatives are properly implemented in the Asia Pacific zone.
Responsible for the Quality Assurance audit program in the zone. Conduct Corporate risk assessments and provide evaluations and constructive criticism on quality performance to the unit management. Provide directions on continuous improvements focused in terms of business and company needs and it must be dedicated to the theory of prevention.
Be aware and determine the effect of new quality requirements on any segment of company activities. Apply problem-solving techniques to both technical and management problems.
Provide guidance to the quality organizational structure and development in the zone. Recognize future challenges and establish activities that will develop the necessary capacity and capability. Provide guidance that will promote good communications, objective thinking and teamwork.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or related field
Minimum of 10 years Quality Assurance (QA) experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing Operations environment
Minimum of 3 years' experience managing technical personnel and complex activities. These experiences should have been gained in engineering or technical operations and should include a minimum of 2 years of QA/QC Management.
Superior written and verbal communications skills
Good understanding of global customer requirements, risk analysis, manufacturing process, cost accounting and ROI.
Sound understanding of business
Fundamental understanding of multiple countries' regulatory requirements
Basic understanding of food science, new product development process, product functionality, up stream raw material supply chains.
Very good understanding of cultural difference in approach to quality and the impact to achieving quality goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or related field
