Responsible for the mechanical setup, operation, control, monitoring, and cleaning of various manufacturing equipment to produce aseptic products following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
Performs assigned duties as outlined in the SOPs for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products according to written instructions from Product Batch Records whilst following all safety requirements.
Prepares for production run by reviewing the production schedule; identifying batch specific requirements; weighing and measuring ingredients and adding to mixing equipment.
Hands-on operations, set-up, clean, sanitize and prepare room and equipment for the Compounding, Filtration and Filling Process.
To ensure that the manufacturing operations are compliant with the site's quality standards, practices, procedures, and documentation requirements and with site, local and federal safety requirements.
To ensure that all SOPs, batch records, manufacturing logbooks and other related documentation are completed according to GMP and Good Documentation Practices Assist in the review of documentation for assigned functions (e.
g.
, routine area audits, logbooks, batch records).
To work cooperatively with the Quality Assurance and other internal departments to ensure appropriate coordination of manufacturing activities.
Recognize & accurately report equipment, process, facilities and/or utilities problems.
To identify, investigate, participate in and when necessary to take ownership of compliance issues and deviations when discovered and to support the identification and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Prepares equipment by performing cleaning-in-place (CIP), steam-in-place (SIP), and cleaning out-of-place (COP) procedures.
Completes all necessary cleaning and preventative maintenance checks including filter integrity testing.
Wears proper personal protective equipment and follows aseptic procedures when gowning, de-gowning while working in the sterile and controlled areas.
Observes safety and security procedures; responsible for meeting department safety objectives and to adhere to on-going safe operating procedures consistent with the job requirements.
To complete assigned trainings in a timely fashion to ensure that both personal and department training status remains current.
To perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
HS/GED or higher required with a minimum of 18 months experience as a Manufacturing Technician in the pharmaceutical, OTC or VMS industry.
Experience working in the aseptic manufacturing industry preferred.
Good understanding of cGMPs, industry and regulatory standards and guidelines.
Must be able to work around chemicals such as acids, bases, oxidizers, disinfectants, sporicidal agents, and cleaning solvents while wearing appropriate PPE.
Must be able to perform calculations using simple mathematical formulas using fractions, percentages, and significant numbers.
Proficiency with the metric system, weight, and volume measures.
Good command of the English Language.
Must be able to read, understand, follow, and comply with technical and written documents and processing instructions as well as clearly and accurately document all required information into batch documents.
Must be capable of lifting 30 lbs.
