Assistant General Manager - Cannabis Dispensary Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as the Assistant General Manager at our vibrant cannabis dispensary.
This position places a strong emphasis on fostering positive energy within the workplace and ensuring compliance with human resource regulations.
As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive work culture while overseeing operational and HR aspects of the dispensary.
Responsibilities:
Positive Work Culture:
Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and employee satisfaction.
Organize team-building activities and initiatives to boost morale and camaraderie among staff.
Human Resource Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all HR policies and procedures, as well as local and state employment laws.
Oversee the recruitment process, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
Employee Development:
Implement training programs to enhance employee skills, product knowledge, and customer service.
Provide ongoing support for professional development, coaching, and mentorship to staff.
Conflict Resolution Address employee concerns promptly and professionally, working to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
Foster open communication channels for staff to express concerns and provide constructive feedback.
Operational Management:
Ensure store activities and staff comply with each State's guidelines, including the Department of Health and any other regulatory bodies Maintain all confidential information according to HIPAA and State policies and procedures Oversee product quality control, pulling all products that do not meet quality standards Oversee inventory management to ensure inventory is consistently accurate, up to date, effectively ordered and replenished, and that there is no loss or theft Oversee cash handling and assist in maintaining organized financial logs required by State regulation and or company policy and procedure Support staff training according to the company training program Supervise online ordering program and delivery operations, as well as related staff Supervise store opening and closing activities Perform Manager on Duty (MOD) functions as needed Compile data and reports regarding product sales Customer Service:
Uphold and promote exceptional customer service standards, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all customers.
Encourage staff to engage with customers, answer inquiries, and provide product knowledge.
Safety/Security:
Confirm that the physical environment is safe, sanitary and that all equipment is in good working order, and that all preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner Supervise security systems for tracking, record keeping, record retention, and surveillance related to all products at every stage of storage, delivery, transportation, and distribution
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred.
Human Resources Certification is required and will be paid for by Kip Dispensary pending 1 year of employment (if no current HR degree or certification).
Proven experience in a managerial role with a focus on HR compliance in the cannabis industry.
Thorough understanding of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance is required.
Positive attitude and a passion for promoting a healthy workplace culture.
TRAINING & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
DW Spectrum & Eagle Eye- Must be able to pull footage for inspections or investigations.
Menu Deals- Must be able to update or correct errors (Dutchie, Leafly, Weedmaps).
Alpine- Must be able to create new text/email messages and update existing ones.
METRC- Must be able to pull test results, check product history, receive a delivery, add an employee, and generate an API.
HR Certification is required and qualifying certifications will be covered by Kip pending 1 full year of employment after certification.
Information Technology (IT)- General understanding of the network configuration.
Google Suite (Microsoft Office)- Proficiency in Sheets (Excel), Docs (Word), Slides (Powerpoint).
Canva- Proficiency in Graphic Design Profit Margin Conflict Resolution Compliance Training with Compliance Manager Shadowing in all Departments to maintain competency for coverage needs Dutchie (POS/eCommerce) Managing Kip Calendar- Google Calendar
